Overview

This three day instructor led course is aimed at IT Professionals wishing to install, set-up, tune and maintain servers and clients running Citrix XenApp 5.0 on Windows 2008 Terminal Services. On completing this course delegates will be able to: Describe the benefits of Terminal Services and the new features included in Windows 2008 server. State the hardware requirements for Terminal server and Citrix and carry out basic capability planning. Add the Windows 2008 Terminal services roles and customise terminal services for maximum stability and performance. Understand and configure terminal services group policy settings. Lock down a terminal server using group policy loop-back processing. Install a Microsoft licensing server and understand user and device licensing issues. Describe the features and benefits of Citrix XenApp and the enhancements that are new in this version. Describe, plan and install a Citrix License Server. Describe, plan and install a Citrix Server Farm. Install and customise the Citrix client Plug-ins. Create and deploy customised ICA client Plug-in packages. Install application programs on the server using best practices. Publish applications, content and desktops to users and groups. Configure virtual IP addresses and virtual loop-back addresses for applications. Create and configure streaming profiles and publish streamed appications to either clients or servers. Add new Citrix Metaframe farm administrators. Manage Citrix servers and set-up load balancing and load throttling. Add and administer Citrix policies. Set-up and monitor Client and Server printing using native drivers, universal print drivers and the easy print driver. Set-up and use applications via the Web Interface and customise the web interface. Monitor and tune the Terminal Server's for maximum performance and set-up server health monitoring and configuration logging.
