We'd like to take just a few minutes to introduce you to e-academy - the Cardiff-based training company that's on a mission to take Wales further.

e-academy is the leading training provider in South Wales - we've trained around 20,000 people since we first opened our doors ten years ago.

Today, organisations face tough challenges - but there are also many opportunities.

Businesses face pressure from many angles - from the economic climate, competitors, increased operating costs and the continual need to change.

And yet, opportunities do exist - by being more competitive and by extending product and service offerings.

Despite organisations facing the same challenges and opportunities, some manage to perform well while others struggle.

This is true globally - and is no less the case in Wales.

According to a 2011 study by the Wales Employment and Skills Board, there are significant skills gaps in the Welsh workforce - especially in senior roles.

From a skills perspective, Wales doesn't now compare favourably with the rest of the UK and Europe.

The report says that organisations should invest in high-level skills and management skills.

Training provides the key to resolving these challenges - not only in the short term, but over a sustained period.

Organisations which embrace learning typically outperform those which don't. These learning organisations continually improve, so that the entire organisation accumulates knowledge, becoming measurably better.

This translates into real business benefits - learning organisations are usually more competitive, responsive, agile and customer-focused.

In turn, this leads to a stronger bottom line, reduced staff turnover, better customer loyalty and a business that's more efficient - and more competitive.

Learning organisations have a happier workforce and, importantly, their customers are happier too.

In fact, there's very little that training can't in some way improve.

Organisations typically focus on three key levers to increase business success: IT systems, business processes and efficiency.

In each case, it's training that pulls the levers, increasing the skills needed to make the organisation more knowledgeable, efficient and profitable.

That's what e-academy is doing: improving the skills of people, teams and entire organisations to take Wales further.

We provide a range of training options: one-to-one coaching, classroom training, e-learning and blended learning - which combines the benefits of classroom training and e-learning.

Each approach has its own advantages. For example, classroom training is more personal, allowing ideas to be explored.

E-learning allows large training programmes to be delivered more cost-effectively - enabling people to learn anywhere, at any time.

There are no hard-and-fast rules for which training method to use, though face-to-face training is used most for IT training and professional skills while e-learning lends itself to large training projects.

We also offer bespoke and standard training. Standard courses are readily available, while bespoke courses take time to develop but are more targeted. A customised course is a half-way house between a standard and a bespoke course, where a standard course is adapted to meet a specific need.

e-academy is the leading training company in South Wales.

We're efficient - our core team of 10 people works with around 50 partners in Wales and across the UK.

We operate from our training centre in Cardiff, which has training rooms, examination facilities and a large lecture hall. We also deliver training on site and through partner locations.

From the heart of Cardiff, we provide training primarily across Wales and the Southwest.

We deliver everything from a single course to a large-scale training programme, scaling our resources as needed.

We deliver desktop applications training for Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sage and Crystal Reports.

Our technical training portfolio includes leading vendors such as Cisco, Citrix and VMware - and, as an official Microsoft learning partner, we deliver a wide range of Microsoft courses.

Our training on industry-standard methodologies for project management, service management and business analysis helps organisations to run more smoothly.

And we provide a range of workplace training courses on everything from communications to managing time.

Where possible, we also help people and organisations obtain funding for their training, through government-backed programmes.

Each customer is assigned an account manager, who co-ordinates services such as project management and administration - and also manages our training programmes, whether they are delivered online or in the classroom.

Every e-academy customer enjoys personal service through a named contact. We're very regionally focused and always flexible in finding the right training solution.
